Next Dor’s ability to tap into the various resources in the greater St. Louis community is one of the organization’s greatest strengths. Our Fellows, selected from a large pool of qualified applicants, plan and implement Next Dor programming. The Board of Directors is made up of young, Jewish professionals, supported by members of the broader Jewish community with experience in non-profit governance and management.

My name is Lisa Goldberg and I’m from Burlington, MA and I moved to St Louis in September 2018 to work at Scott AFB as an active duty Air Force Psychologist. Outside of work, I love being outdoors and active, running, reading, and socializing with friends. I became involved in Next Dor first as a community member and loved how inclusive and welcoming it was, and decided to become a board member to give back to the community and to the organization. I then joined the house as a fellow in September 2019. I love coming up with fun new events for the community and helping people connect with one another.
My name is Freya Doughty and I’m from Bristol, England. I moved to St. Louis for the legal research doctoral program at Washington University in St. Louis in 2019, and joined Next Dor as a fellow in the summer of 2020. Outside of my program, I am a fundraiser, creative writing tutor, and lover of every single dog. I discovered Next Dor through my time at Moishe House STL, and fell in love with the atmosphere and people in this community. Currently, I’m focusing on programs surrounding racial equity and keeping the community spirit throughout this pandemic, so if you have any ideas please feel free to contact me at freya at nextdorstl dot com. Hope to see you soon!
I’m Sophie, I use she/her pronouns, and I was born and raised in STL. I spent the last six years living elsewhere—in Rochester, NY, New York City, and most recently North Macedonia, a Balkan country where I was teaching English until the pandemic hit. Getting evacuated was a bit of a blessing in disguise because it brought me back to St. Louis, where I’ve since gotten involved in local politics and found a new home in Next Dor! I’m excited to lead programs involving music, St. Louis quirkiness, great food, and elaborate Zoom activities.
